Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III’s wife, Grete Griffin, spoke out after Cam Newton said a woman’s value goes down if she has more children.
In a teaser for the “Outta Pocket with RGIII” podcast, Grete disagreed with that idea.
“Cam Newton said a woman’s value drops with the more kids that she has,” she said. “So does a man’s value drop with every broken promise, with every added baby mama, or do we only do the value math on women?”
Her husband agreed with her.

“We have to stop talking about women’s value as if it’s like a stock,” he said. “I think a woman’s value is in a number. It’s about their character, sacrificing, love, commitment. That to me is where women’s value comes in, not from body counts or baby counts. To me, a mother doesn’t lose value. A man loses value when he can’t respect the women who are raising the future.”
He also wrote about it in the caption of the Instagram video.
“We need less Men trying to calculate the value of women and more Men not creating 1 parent households with 3-4 baby mommas,” he said.
Cam Newton later commented “LOVE” under the post.

The discussion started after Newton spoke on the “It’s Giving” podcast with Sarah Fontenot on Wednesday.
“I just think that the reality of that answer is that women’s value gets lowered the more children that they have,” he said.
Cam Newton has seven biological children with three different women.
