Brandon Aubrey is negotiating a new contract with the Dallas Cowboys. The perennial Pro Bowler is widely considered the best kicker in the league, and there are reports circulating that he’s looking to become the highest-paid player at his position.

Aubrey’s agent, Todd France, took to social media on Wednesday to call out the “misinformation” being spread around the league.

“The NFL Combine…where misinformation spreads like wildfire. Looking forward to my meeting with the Cowboys on the bus.” France wrote on Instagram.

France posted a video of the Cowboys’ team bus at the NFL Combine. It’s a sign that he’s in and around the Cowboys vicinity as they take a look at potential draft picks.

According to Yahoo Sports, there are rumors that Brandon Aubrey and his agent are seeking a $10 million-per-year contract. That sum would easily make the Dallas Cowboys placekicker the highest-paid special teamer in the NFL.

It’s important to note that both parties are still negotiating, and neither has said anything concrete.

Brandon Aubrey has enjoyed a stellar start to NFL career

Brandon Aubrey had a unique path to the NFL. He started out as a soccer player at the University of Notre Dame. He thrived at the collegiate level and was selected by Toronto FC in the 2017 MLS Super Draft.

Aubrey would later take up American football, signing with the USFL’s Birmingham Stallions. He helped the Stallions to back-to-back USFL championships and was named to the 2022 All-USFL Team.

The Dallas Cowboys took notice of his talent and signed him to a three-year, $2,695,000 contract ahead of the 2023 season. Aubrey has since become arguably the NFL’s best kicker. He has one first-team All-Pro nod, two second-team All-Pro selections and three consecutive Pro Bowl nods.

Furthermore, Aubrey led the league in scoring in 2023, as well as being the first player in the Super Bowl era to make his first 10 field goal attempts in the first three games. He owns several Dallas Cowboys and NFL records entering his fourth season.

The Dallas Cowboys will look to sign him to a long-term contract extension. He remains a viral part of their offense in their quest for Super Bowl glory.
