Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s future with the Miami Dolphins remains uncertain as the offseason continues. However, NFL insider Adam Schefter believes the Pro Bowler could find a new home with this NFC North team.
On Wednesday, during an interview with “ESPN Milwaukee”, Schefter linked Tagovailoa with the Green Bay Packers, who are worth $6.5 billion (as per Forbes). He also said that the team was an ideal fit for Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, who is also a part of the trade rumor mill.
“If I were a guy like Kyler Murray or Tua Tagovailola, Green Bay would be appealing to me,” Schefter said. “Like, you’re with a good organization and a good system with good talented players. You take a year to kind of reset yourself and decompress and learn and see things from a different perspective.
“There are worse places to wind up than Green Bay for one of those guys. Again, I’m sure those guys are gonna want to play and start, and that’s not the case in Green Bay. But if they can’t get that opportunity, then you would think a place like Green Bay would be very attractive to a lot these guys.”

Tua Tagovailoa has suffered multiple concussions during his six years with the Dolphins. Last season, he had an underwhelming campaign, helping his team finish third in the AFC East with a 7-10 record and no playoff appearance.
Tagovailoa was benched for the last three games of the season. He played in 14 games and recorded 2,660 yards and 20 TDs passing with 15 interceptions and 30 sacks. Since then, his status as the Dolphins QB1 has been under constant scrutiny.

Dolphins GM Jon-Eric shares his thoughts on Tua Tagovailoa’s future with the franchise
During the NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday, Dolphins GM Jon-Eric Sullivan spoke about Tua Tagovailoa’s future amid rumors of his potential trade.
He clarified that they are assessing every option available for success.
“We had converstations with Tua and his representation,” Sullivan said as per the team’s website. “Everything’s on the table, including the potential of a trade. We don’t know which way that’s going to go.
“There’s a lot of different factors at play, a lot of conversations beind had; but evaluating the roster, Quinn (Ewers) did a nice job towards the end of the year. Exicted about what’s ahead of him. Tua, I thought even though things didn’t go well at the end of the year, did some good things along the way. …”
Despite parting ways with Tua Tagovailoa is not an easy process. If the Dolphins release him before June 1, they will incur a whopping $99 million in dead cap. A post-June 1 designation could spread that figure over two seasons.
However, if they decide to trade him, they still incur a $45 million dead cap. The quarterback had signed a four-year, $212.4 million deal with the Dolphins back in 2024.
