Amon-Ra St. Brown’s father, John Brown, opened up about the NFL star’s relationship with his longtime girlfriend, Brooklyn Adams. The Lions wide receiver has been dating Adams since they were in high school and have been together for more than a decade.

John talked about his son’s successful career and his personal life on “The Pivot” podcast’s episode released on Feb. 28. The NFL star recalled advising his son to not have a girlfriend.

“Amon-Ra has a beautiful girlfriend. I’m talking about inside, not out,” John said (Timestamp 31:54). “She’s beautiful outside, too. But just been together since 10th grade. Just wonderful. But at that time when I met her, she said she was 16 years old. And I told Amon-Ra, ‘Don’t have a girlfriend. Girls are dream killers.’ Yeah, girls are dream killers. Everybody know that, right? And also I would say to them, if I had girls, boys are dream killers.

“So I told him that, but not to say anything bad towards her. Just to try to give him a good foundation to understand this mission we’re on. You can’t screw around, you know. ‘I’m in love. No, I can’t play the game. I can’t play that. I’m in love. She broke my heart,’ You can’t have that. You can’t get the heart broken.”

Amon-Ra St. Brown and his girlfriend bought a house together in Michigan. She has been an avid supporter of his career and is often seen cheering for him during his games.

Amon-Ra St. Brown opened up about his decade-long relationship with his girlfriend, Brooklyn Adams, in an interview with People magazine last month. He talked about being authentic and how his loved ones helped him with his career and life.

“I think for me, it’s just being myself,” Amon-Ra said. “You can’t please everyone at the end of the day. And that’s with everyone. So, for me, it’s just being myself each and every day.

“…Obviously, you get to choose what you show everyone. But no, it’s been amazing having my girl by my side. My family has been so supportive of me throughout my career. My two brothers, my parents. So it’s been amazing,” he added.

Amon-Ra St. Brown met his girlfriend while he was in his sophomore year of high school, and things escalated between them after they were paired for an academic assignment. They started talking while working together on the project and soon began dating each other. The pair were in a long-distance relationship while she was studying nursing and he was busy with game schedules.
