Former F1 driver Lando Norris’ team, McLaren, has launched a new golf equipment company, McLaren Golf. On Monday, the F1 team officially announced its golf equipment company, which will focus on making high-performance golf equipment. The equipment will be engineered to “McLaren’s exacting standards”.

In the official statement released on their website, McLaren said the new golf company will “push” the boundaries of equipment design and manufacturing and will “unlock new levels of precision for golfers.”

Neil Howie, the CEO of McLaren Golf, also opened up about the new golf company. He spoke about the engineering and high standards of McLaren and shared his excitement to see their “ambition” come to life on “golf courses.”

“McLaren Golf is a high-end, engineering-led venture that goes beyond the equipment,” Howie said. “We’re building a brand grounded in McLaren’s high-performance DNA, and embedding it in a new sporting arena.

“We’ve hired some of the best minds in engineering and combined them with leading figures from the golf world to create an innovation-led company that pushes the limits of what golfers can expect from their equipment. We can’t wait to see our ambition come to life on the course this year,” he added.

Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, also opened up about McLaren Golf. He said:

“At McLaren Racing, we’re driven by performance and the pursuit of excellence in everything we do. Taking our benchmark‑setting engineering standards from the grid to the golf course feels like a natural step, and one that opens the McLaren brand to a new audience.”

Notably, McLaren Golf has not released the names of the equipment it will be releasing. They will reveal their first product on April 29.

Lando Norris is known for his love of golf and has also competed in several celebrity tournaments. He played at the prestigious Augusta National and also joined Dustin Johnson for a round at Michael Jordan’s Grove XXIII.

Norris was introduced to the game by his former teammate Carlos Sainz, and he slowly developed an intense interest in the game. In one of his interviews in 2022, Norris opened up about his love for golf.

“I’m fully addicted, like I can’t describe how addicted I am to golf,” Norris said. “I watch it every weekend. I’m looking at the scores. I’m watching the live streams. The golf bug has really bit me hard, but it’s really enjoyable.”

With McLaren venturing into golf equipment, Norris can now get equipment made to McLaren’s exacting standards to play with. The British-born racing driver has also played golf with other professional golfers, including Jon Rahm and Joaquin Niemann.
