Jacksonville Jaguars wideout Brian Thomas Jr. had a challenging first year under coach Liam Coen in the 2025 season. In January, after the Jaguars were eliminated from the playoffs, Coen didn’t anticipate trading Thomas.
However, nearly two months later, NFL insider John Frascella has suggested that Coen might not want to keep Thomas in Jacksonville heading into next season.
“The Brian Thomas Jr is getting traded rumors are heating up in a MAJOR way… I mean, let’s get real, Liam Coen is NOT enthralled by this kid,” Frascella tweeted on Thursday.

The Jaguars took Thomas with the No. 23 pick in the 2024 NFL draft. He had a stellar rookie season, posting 1,282 yards with 10 touchdowns on 87 receptions, earning a Pro Bowl honor and a PFWA All-Rookie Team selection.
However, Thomas’ output dropped in his second year as he recorded 48 receptions, 707 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games last season. Moreover, his 10 drops were tied for the second-most among all receivers in the league.

Brian Thomas Jr. helped the Jaguars win the AFC South title in the 2025 season

Despite Brian Thomas Jr.’s mixed performances in the 2025 season, he helped the Jaguars win the AFC South title. It was Jacksonville’s first divisional title triumph since the 2022 season.
The Jaguars suffered a 27-24 loss to the Buffalo Bills in the wild-card round last season.
It remains to be seen if Thomas will remain with the Jaguars in the 2026 season. The wideout still had a strong partnership with Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence, but the decision lies with Coen.
