Maxx Crosby will be leaving the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason. On Friday, reports confirmed that they have finalized a trade with the Baltimore Ravens for their star defensive end. In exchange for him, they are receiving first-round picks in both 2026 and 2027.
Following the reports of this trade, former NFL safety-turned-analyst Louis Riddick did not mince his words while discussing the Raiders’ future led by minority owner Tom Brady. He highlighted how the team now has significant cap space following Maxx Crosby’s trade to bolster its roster as a championship contender.
Riddick also said that the Raiders can utilize their 11 draft picks this year to build a future-proof team.
“@Raiders now have 11 picks for ’26 draft, and the most cap space of any team for ’26 by $20M+. They can get this t hing turned around in the next 2 years. …

“If they can develop and utilize the players they end up signing/drafting. The pressure is on the entire operation. No excuses,” Riddick tweeted.
The Raiders have not been championship material for decades. The last time they won the Lombardi Trophy was during the 1983 season when they won Super Bowl XVIII. Their last playoff appearance was during the 2021 season, where they lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in a wild-card showdown.
Maxx Crosby joined the team after they drafted him with the 106th pick in 2019. In seven seasons, he made the playoffs just once despite being a five-time Pro Bowler. The defensive end recorded a total of 439 tackles, 69.5 sacks and 133 tackles for loss in the 110 games he’s played for the Raiders.
