Justin Rose admitted he did not play his best golf after missing the cut at the 2026 Arnold Palmer Invitational. The English golfer shared his thoughts on social media after his early exit from the tournament at Bay Hill.
Rose finished the event at 6 over par after two rounds and did not qualify for the weekend. Posting on X on March 7, he reflected on the week in Orlando while also looking ahead to his next start.
“Always great being back in Orlando, so many special memories living in the area with the family. Wasn’t my best golf this week!! Love playing in the @APinv @Mastercard until next year! Next stop @THEPLAYERS.”
Rose began the tournament with a solid opening round. He made three birdies and just one bogey to post a 70 (2 under) on Thursday.
However, the second round proved difficult. Rose recorded one birdie, seven bogeys and a double bogey, finishing with an 80 (8 over) that dropped him outside the cut line.
The result marked another missed cut for Rose during the early part of the 2026 season. He has now missed the cut three times in five starts this year.
The performance also stood in contrast to his showing at last year’s Arnold Palmer Invitational, where he finished tied for eighth at 5 under par.
Justin Rose will now shift his focus to the Players Championship, scheduled from March 12 to 15, 2026, where he will look to bounce back after missing the cut at the event last year.
Justin Rose’s results in the 2026 PGA Tour season so far
Justin Rose’s 2026 season has had both good and difficult weeks. He started the year by missing the cut at The American Express, even though he finished the tournament at 8 under par.
Things changed quickly after that. Rose won the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines later in January. He shot 62, 65, 68 and 70 to finish 23 under par, winning the event by seven strokes.
The victory also set a new tournament record. His total of 265 beat the previous mark of 266 which had been held by Tiger Woods (1999) and George Burns (1987). Rose also led the tournament after every round, something that had not happened at the San Diego event since Tommy Bolt in 1955.
After that win, Rose played the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where he finished tied for 37th at 11 under par.
However, his form dropped in the next two events. He missed the cut at The Genesis Invitational at 3 over par, followed by another early exit at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Last season, Justin Rose played 18 events and made the cut in 12 of them. His biggest result was a win at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, along with one runner-up finish and five top-five finishes during the year.
