Brooks Koepka opened up about the difference between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf after returning to the American circuit. The American golfer is planning to play this week at The Players Championship. He spent four seasons on LIV Golf but returned to the PGA Tour ahead of the start of the 2026 season in January.
On Tuesday, he attended a pre-tournament press conference of The Players Championship and opened up about the difference in competition on both circuits. He talked about the former Masters winner Jon Rahm.
“There are good players everywhere, and there’s a lot of great players out here,” Koepka said. “There’s good players out there. I mean, I think everybody in this room knows that Jon Rahm’s a hell of a player. I mean, there’s good players everywhere. DP World Tour, same thing. I mean this field’s pretty good; I’ll put it that way.”
Jon Rahm had been pretty successful on LIV Golf. He made his debut in the league in 2024, and in his first year in the league, he won the UK event and then the Chicago event. He was the runner-up at the Greenbrier event.
However, in the last season, he struggled to win any tournament but had notable finishes. Rahm had also started his 2026 campaign on the Saudi league and was the runner-up in the Riyadh and Adelaide events before winning the Hong Kong event.
Meanwhile, after his return to the PGA Tour, Brooks Koepka had struggled with his game. He is looking forward to this week’s event.
Brooks Koepka opens up about playing at The Players 2026
Brooks Koepka is returning to play at The Players after four years. His last outing at the event was in 2022, and that year he missed the cut.
In a pre-tournament press conference on Tuesday, Koepka opened up about playing this week at The Players.
“It feels good to be back,” Koepka said. “Played the back nine yesterday. I thought the greens were a little bit firmer than what I remember. A couple changes. But it was good to see the course in great shape, and it’s going to be a good test this week.
Brooks Koepka made his debut at The Players back in 2015, but that year he missed the cut. Some of his notable finishes in the event were a T16 in 2017 and a T11 in 2018.
Meanwhile, this season on the PGA Tour, Koepka played at the Farmers Insurance Open, where he carded the four rounds of 73, 68, 73, and 70 to settle in a tie for 56th place.
He then missed the cut at the WM Phoenix Open and then recorded a T9 finish at the Cognizant Classic. The Players 2026 is scheduled to take place from March 12 to 15.
