Amanda Balionis sends a heartfelt message to Jacob Bridgeman after Genesis Invitational victory
Amanda Balionis covered the Genesis Invitational last month. She shared a glimpse of her outing on her Instagram, congratulating the winner, Jacob Bridgeman, on Feb 23. She shared several pictures and congratulated him in the caption.
“I’m not sure there is a more iconic way to win for your first time on the @pgatour than how @jacobbridgeman1 just did it,” Balionis wrote. “A signature event, on a historic course, with the 🐐 as the tournament host…it just doesn’t get much better. Ps. Swipe to the end for a glute activation joke because why not.”
The Genesis Invitational was held from February 19 to 22 at the Riviera Country Club. Bridgeman started the game with an opening round of 66. He then added the next three rounds of 64, 64, and 72. He settled with a score of 18 under.
Bridgeman opened up about his win in the post-round press conference of the Genesis Invitational.
“This morning I wouldn’t say it’s a bad thing to let myself think about winning, but I did and I thought it would be a lot easier than it was,” Bridgeman said. “I kind of had everything under control especially to start the day and I felt great throughout the day. Then some guys started making a little run and they got a little closer. I had a couple unfortunate breaks. Yeah, it got a lot tighter than I wanted it to.”
In her post, Amanda Balionis shared a picture of Bridgeman taking his interviews. For the outing, Balionis wore a white jacket and paired it with black pants.
Meanwhile, this week, the PGA Tour players tee it up with The Players Championship. The tournament started on Thursday and is heading for its finale. After two rounds in the event, Ludvig Åberg took the lead in the game and is scheduled to have the finale on Sunday, March 15.
