The Dallas Cowboys have made some roster additions following their disappointing finish to the 2025 season, which extended their Super Bowl drought.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was asked on Sunday about his “optimism for the playoffs” heading into the new league year.

“I believe we’ve done one thing: we’re figuring out how to stop them,” Jones said on “IndyCar Series on Fox.” “We can’t do anything but go up there. But that’s where we are addressing and that’s where we’re putting our energy in our mind.”

Dallas bolstered the defensive side by signing cornerback Cobie Durant, defensive tackle Otito Ogbonnia, safety P.J. Locke and quarterback Sam Howell. The team also added pass rusher Rashan Gary in a trade with the Green Bay Packers and secured safety Jalen Thompson’s services on a three-year deal.

However, the Cowboys have not had a blockbuster signing despite being linked to a move for Pro Bowl defensive end Maxx Crosby.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones content with Dallas’ offseason moves

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones downplayed talks of any notable signings in free agency, hinting at the franchise’s salary cap limitations.

“I think we’re within the boundaries of what we have available, what we’re trying to accomplish with draft picks and with (salary) cap,” Jones said to reporters on Friday. “I wouldn’t try to re-visit or try to re-do what we’ve done on either that cap or the trades we’ve made. I like what we got.”

Some Cowboys fans were not happy with Jones’ statement as they are counting on his “bust the budget” promise at the NFL combine.
