Tiger Woods’s TGL season 2 is nearing its finale. This week, on Tuesday, teams will compete in the semifinals. Woods’s Jupiter Links Golf Club will be playing against Rory McIlroy’s Boston Common Golf Club. However, Woods will not play in the tournament.

For the Boston Common GC, McIlroy will be joined by Adam Scott and Keegan Bradley, while for Jupiter Links GC, the lineup includes Max Homa, Akshay Bhatia, and Tom Kim.

Rory McIlroy struggled with an injury ahead of the third round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational and withdrew from the game after two rounds. However, he then played at The Players Championship but struggled to defend his title. He carded four rounds of 74, 71, 72, and 71 and settled in a tie for 46th place.

He was the runner-up at the Genesis Invitational and is returning to play in the TGL series.

Meanwhile, Tiger Woods has also been recovering from his injury. He underwent surgery in October. The American golfer has not played in any tournament on the official PGA Tour since his last outing at The Open Championship 2024.

Following the win, his team secured its spot in the TGL semifinal, and in the post-round press conference of the event held on March 3, Woods talked about his team’s success this season in the TGL.

“I think that overall last year, this was the original team, and we all played, and we all bonded,” Woods said. “To be able to do that again this year — unfortunately I haven’t been able to play, but I’ve been here with these guys and have rooted and cheered and pulled for them. It’s been so much fun to be with these guys. This is a great group of guys. That’s what makes — the TGL experience, if you asked all these guys on the various teams what makes the experience, I think it’s just being with your teammates. We don’t get a chance to do that very often.

“Once a year if you’re on the U.S. Team, but not on a more routine basis like we are here with TGL. The bonding that we’ve had and the text exchange and the group text, then adding Akshay to it, it’s been so much fun for us. That’s the bonding that happens,” he added.

Notably, the Jupiter Links GC struggled with the game in the first season of the TGL series and missed the playoffs. Tiger Woods’s TGL team started the second edition of the tech-infused series with a game against the New York GC but lost the match. The team won two matchups and made it to the playoffs this season.
