A. J. Brown has spent the last four years of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles. The perennial Pro Bowler was instrumental in the Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX win, ensuring that he won his first ring in the big leagues.

However, Brown had a rough 2025 season, marked by disagreements and uncertainty about his role in the team’s offense. He’s now a subject of trade rumors heading into the business past of the offseason.

According to Dianna Russini, the Los Angeles Chargers are one of two main suitors for Brown. The Chargers, valued at $6 billion by Forbes, are keeping tabs on the Browns’ situation with the Eagles.

Furthermore, the New England Patriots have poked around on it. However, the Eagles are holding firm on their steep asking price for their WR1.

A. J. Brown joined the Eagles via a trade with the Tennessee Titans during the 2022 draft. Nick Sirianni’s team would want more than that to allow Brown to join another franchise. So far, no team has met the Eagles’ valuation.

Nick Sirianni is unsure of A. J. Brown playing for the Eagles in 2026

Nick Sirianni and A. J. Brown had some frosty interactions in the 2025 season. Their tension reached a boiling point during the wild-card round as the Eagles were eliminated by the San Francisco 49ers. The coach and wide receiver went back and forth on the sideline.

According to ESPN, Sirianni has indicated that there was mutual interest between Brown and the franchise in continuing his career in Philadelphia, but neither he nor general manager Howie Roseman committed to the star wideout suiting up for the Eagles next season.

“Yeah, my expectation is he wants to be here. And obviously, you want good players like that in your building,” Sirianni said to the media at the NFL Combine.

“As Howie said, it’s hard to get good players in this league. A.J.’s a great player and A.J. is a good teammate and A.J. is a good person. Does he want to be here? Yes. Do I want him to be here? Yes.

“Will A.J. be here next season? I think we’re still in a spot, like, I can’t guarantee how anything is going to play out into next season.”

Brown has his suitors, and he’s one of the finest wide receivers in Eagles history. He helped the team to two Super Bowl appearances in four years, while regularly leading them in receiving categories.

The Philadelphia Eagles would have a dead cap hit of over $40 million if they trade away A. J. Brown before June 1, compared to under $20 million if a trade is done after that date. A lot of eyes will be on Sirianni and Roseman regarding how they’ll move with one of their most important players.
