Former USC Trojans wide receiver Makai Lemon made headlines after his bizarre interview at the NFL Scouting Combine.
On Sunday, ex-Pittsburgh Steelers lineman Breiden Fehoko shared a tweet regarding the wide receiver. He said that he talked to an NFL scout about Lemon’s Combine interview, who said that it gave him a bad rapport heading into the draft.
“I talked to a scout just now who said he didn’t know what Makai Lemon’s motive was behind his combine interviews but whoever adviseded the kid need to be fired. ‘Absolutely bombed it’ word for word,” Fehoko tweeted.

Lemon did not face backlash and criticism for his answers during his interview. However, fans called out his stage presence at the podium while also pointing out his weird behavior.
Coming out of high school, the wide receiver initially committed to the Oklahoma Sooners. However, Lemon then flipped his comment to the USC Trojans. In three seasons, he has recorded 2,008 yards on 137 receptions and 14 touchdowns. During the 2025 campaign, Lemon tallied 1,156 yards and 11 TDs receiving while the Trojans finished with a 9-4 record and an Alamo Bowl loss vs. TCU.
The 2025 Biletnikoff Award winner is considered one of the best wide receivers in this year’s draft. Lemon is projected to go in the first-round. At the Combine, he decided to sit out the athletic testing drills and only participate in the positioning drills.
