Adam Scott is set to tee up this weekend at the BMW Australian PGA Championship 2025 at Royal Queensland Golf Club. The Aussie veteran is chasing a “full circle” moment at the course where he played junior Pennants. Returning to the competition after being absent last year, the 14-time PGA Tour star will be eyeing his first win here in five years.

For the unversed, Scott’s resume on the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia boasts two Australian PGA, two Australian Masters and an Australian Open win. The 45-year-old from Adelaide acknowledged the prospect of winning again at the prestigious course and dubbed it “really special.” He called it a possible “full circle kind of moment from being a junior champion” to being a PGA champion on the course.

Speaking about the prospect of winning the BMW Australian PGA Championship at Royal Queensland GC, Adam Scott said, as quoted by Golf.com Australia:

“It’d be really special, certainly at this point in my career… I feel like the chances have been kind of few and far between the last couple of years and I haven’t taken advantage of it when I’ve been there. To put myself in that position this weekend would be great…

It’d be like a full circle kind of moment from being a junior champion here to being a PGA champion here and kind of put myself in some really great company being a three-time winner.”

For the unversed, Scott arrives at Royal Queensland Golf Club on the back of a mixed season. The 11-time European Tour winner last appeared at the Genesis Championship at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club, South Korea in October, where he finished T30.

Adam Scott features in BMW Australian PGA Championship marquee group

Adam Scott is set to tee off as one of the marquee group names for Round 1 of the BMW Australian PGA Championship alongside defending champion Elvis Smylie. The two Aussie golfers, who played a practice round together at The Open in July, will be joined by Kiwi No.1 Ryan Fox. The trio will take the first tee at 3:10 pm ET (6:10 am AEST Thursday morning).

Interestingly, both Scott and Smylie have come out share their excitement to tee off alongside each other at Royal Queensland. Speaking ahead of the main event, the Australian PGA Championship reigning champion revealed that he had the opportunity to have dinner with his compatriot playing partner during the Genesis Championship. The 23-year-old called it a “pretty special” moment.

Speaking about Adam Scott, Elvis Smylie said:

“I had the opportunity to have dinner with Adam (Scott) in Korea and we sat down, had a really nice chat. I think 11, 12-year-old Elvis would be pinching himself for an opportunity like that… Just to be able to pick his brain about certain things and to know that he’s looking out for me and he’s watching my progress, that’s pretty special.”

Meanwhile, Scott admitted being a keen observer of Smylie’s growth over the years. He lauded the young golfer’s ‘motivation to get better.’ The 2013 Masters champion dubbed Symlie an ‘exciting prospect’ and a prospect for the International Presidents Cup team.
