Anthony Kim was brutally honest about his performance at the Moutai Singapore Open where he finished tied for 43rd at eight under par. On November 11, the former PGA Tour star shared a carousel on Instagram reflecting on his week at the Singapore Island Country Club.
In his post, Kim thanked his family, his journey in sobriety and the opportunity to play professionally again. He also admitted his short game let him down calling it “straight trash” even though his ball striking kept him in contention.
“Thank u GOD 4 this 2nd chance in life & my family @emilybstanley BELLA , sobriety & the many that a support me. SINGAPORE is an amazing place & so gr8ful 4 @marinabaysands 4 hosting us🙏. 2nd week in a row where I hit it good enuf in a tournament 2 have good chance at the end but shortgame was str8 🗑️ trash. Pretty easy 2 tell how different my swing looks not by changing anything but my setup. Regardless of results the goal is 2 get 1% BETTER & I def feel closer than ever. SOBER is DOPE🔥 @intseriesgolf @natalie_buffett @grant_bennettwsu,“ he wrote.
Anthony Kim opened the event with a 4-under 68 and followed it with a 3-under 69 on Friday to make the cut comfortably. He shot an even-par 72 in the third round and finished with a 1-under 71 on Sunday. The 40-year-old who last played a full PGA Tour season in 2012, has steadily improved since his comeback in 2024 and impressed in his previous International Series start in Hong Kong finishing five under par.
Anthony Kim has no plans to retire yet
Despite the ups and downs of the past two years on the LIV Golf League, Anthony Kim has no plans to step away from the game. He admits it’s been tough calling the last seasons a period where he got “his teeth kicked in every week” but says he’s more motivated than ever to get better.
Anthony Kim returned to professional golf in December 2024 as a LIV Golf wildcard after a 12-year absence. He revealed that multiple surgeries, injuries and struggles with addiction and depression made the comeback even harder.
Even after being relegated from LIV Golf this season, Anthony Kim plans to continue competing on the Asian Tour and International Series while choosing events that fit with family life. He will also take part in LIV Golf’s Promotions event next January, which gives two players exemptions for next season.
“I am going to play a few more years. I do not know how long I want to play golf for, but this is something I am committed to. I am motivated to play as good as I can, work as hard as I can, and the results will speak for themselves,” Kim said.
Anthony Kim has made three cuts in his last four International Series starts and believes his form is getting stronger.
“Overall, my ball striking has gotten a lot better. I finally am doing the stuff I practice at home out here on the golf course. I’ve just got to get a few more putts to fall, and things will change pretty quickly,” he added.
His efforts haven’t gone unnoticed, with Phil Mickelson publicly acknowledging Kim’s steady improvement and showing support for his ongoing comeback. Looking ahead, Kim is focused on playing selected events in 2026, continuing to rebuild his game, and steadily regaining consistency on tour.
