Before LIV Golf’s 2026 season, Anthony Kim earned his way back into the league through the Promotions Event. Although the breakaway tour got back one of their old pros, they recently lost one when Patrick Reed left. Kim has recently shared his take on the matter.
For the unversed, just before LIV’s season opener in Riyadh, Reed announced his voluntary exit from LIV Golf to return to the PGA Tour. The 35-year-old professional golfer stated via a press release that he was ready to compete in Tour events in 2027.
After the golfer followed his fellow American pro Brooks Koepka’s footsteps, Anthony Kim stated on X (previously Twitter) that his opinion was similar to that of the five-time major champion. According to Kim, Reed did what was best for his family. The golfer wrote on his timeline:
“Similar opinion as the @BKoepka situation. @PReedGolf did wat he thot was best 4 him & his family so good 4 him. Play good & get more opportunities just like any other job. 🤷♂️ 1% BETTER SOBER is DOPE…”

Patrick Reed’s exit from LIV Golf was a shocking update for golf fans. The Saudi PIF-backed golf league admitted via a presser that it had tried to negotiate a contract extension with Reed. It also stated that the league was grateful for everything the golfer had contributed.
Anthony Kim’s X post on Reed came days after the golfer decided to leave LIV Golf. Just like the LIV Golf Wildcard stated in his X post, Kim did not shy away from sharing his take on Koepka’s exit from the tour.
When Anthony Kim provided a “pretty simple” take on Brooks Koepka’s exit from LIV Golf
Koepka was released from his LIV Golf contract in December 2025 after he announced his exit to spend more time with his family. Days after his exit, it was revealed that Koepka was on his way to be reinstated to the PGA Tour.
Following that, Anthony Kim shared a unique take on this matter, emphasizing winning majors and earning more. Kim stated on his X timeline:
“Lotta people talkin about @BKoepka situation. Pretty simple 💩 win a bunch of majors make a bunch of cash & u get 2 do wat u want end of story. If u don’t like it win a bunch of majors🤷♂️ 1% BETTER”

Following his exit, Kim will now be able to play in PGA Tour events, starting from the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open. The 2009 Players Champion, who is returning to the Tour via the PGA Tour Returning Members Program, will also compete in this year’s WM Phoenix Open and Cognizant Classic.
