Aryna Sabalenka reunites with David Beckham, chills with Maria Sharapova at Stella Artois party

For US Open champion Aryna Sabalenka, it was a night of Stella and the stars at a party promoting Stella Artois beer in New York City.

The world No. 1, who famously promised “Drinks on me!” en route to winning her first US Open title in 2024, got up close and personal with some of sport’s biggest celebrities, including football legend David Beckham and fellow former WTA No. 1 Maria Sharapova. Other attendees included two-time US Open semifinalist Frances Tiafoe and musician Nick Jonas.

Sabalenka first met Beckham after another big win in 2025, taking selfies at the Chase Stadium during an Inter Miami CF game fresh off the future four-time Grand Slam champ’s first Miami Open title.

“It’s so good to be at home, and winning the title is just amazing,” she said at the time, “and now getting to attend another sport. I just feel so happy right now.”

The 27-year-old is wrapping up a week-long victory tour after successfully defending her title at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, where she won a 2024 final rematch over Jessica Pegula in the semifinals and avenged a Wimbledon defeat to American Amanda Anisimova in the final. The win guaranteed Sabalenka, who lost two heartbreaking major finals this season, would end the year with a Grand Slam victory and put her in pole position to finish atop the WTA rankings for a second straight year.

“Going into this final I decided for myself that I’m going to control my emotions,” Sabalenka said in her post-match press conference, celebrating with a bottle of Moët & Chandon. “I’m not going to let them take control over me, and doesn’t matter what happens in the match. If she break me back or if she plays incredible tennis—of course, it’s a finals, and she’s going to be fighting, especially after recent final, I knew that she would love to have, like, a better result.

“My mindset was just going out there, fight for every point. Doesn’t matter of the situation. Just focus on myself and focus on things that I have to do to win the match. I think from what I understand today, that the lesson learned and I really hope it will never happen again if I’m going to be playing another finals, that I will be more in control.”

Ironically enough, Sabalenka’s renewed mindset has put her back on a trajectory to match and surpass fellow Stella Artois partygoer Sharapova, who won five major titles in her nearly two decades on tour.
