Atlantic City mayor debuts podcast with Katt Williams as first guest

Atlantic City’s mayor debuts a podcast this weekend, with a famous guest who went viral in another interview a year ago.

Comedian Katt Williams spent a couple days with Marty Small last month, meeting members of the community and even playing ball with some of the youth.

Williams garnered major attention last year with a spill all the tea interview with Shannon Sharpe on the NFL legend’s Club Shay Shay.

But it was his mentioning of Atlantic City neighborhoods like Back Maryland during when he brought his “Heaven on Earth” tour to Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall.

“I asked him, ‘What do you know about Back Maryland?’” Small told BreakingAC.

That’s when the comedian told him that he makes it a point to reach out to the community wherever he performs.

He went even further when he spent a couple of days with the mayor.

Williams went to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School Complex with Small, where he spent time with kids in the city’s Recreation Department and Dolphins players, the mayor said.

Williams even took pictures with all the kids.

Small had decided he would relaunch his radio show as a podcast, and decided he had his perfect first guest.

“Katt graciously said, ‘Look, anything you need me to do for you while I’m here, consider it done,’” Small said.

The show will continue every Saturday with a mixture of politics, sports and entertainment, said Small, who has not let his pending criminal charges quiet him.

“The show every week is going to tell the truth about what is going on in the great city of Atlantic City,” he said. “It will be unscripted and unedited. People don’t have to worry about anything being left out.

“It’s going to be informative. It’s going to be fun,” he said. “It’s going to be bigger and better, and I’m always going to showcase Atlantic City.”
