Beau Hossler offered a subtle response to Tiger Woods’ recent comments about changes on the PGA Tour stressing that players and fans need clarity more than constant promises of improvement. The comments came during Hossler’s appearance on GOLF’s Subpar podcast where he reacted to Woods’ optimism about the Tour’s future direction.

In a clip shared by the podcast’s official X account host Colt Knost referenced Woods’ comments from earlier in the day. Woods, who is now part of a competition committee said the Tour is moving toward a better overall product and hinted that more changes could be on the way.

Hossler said he was not fully aware of the details but pointed out that the constant changes have made things harder to follow. He said the goal may be to get everything right but consistency matters just as much.

“I think that the intention obviously is to get it right, but I think there’s some value in just getting it consistent… I honestly believe that is if you want your fans really to be engaged, I really think they need to understand. And I can tell you with certainty your players need to understand what’s going on. And there’s just been so many changes over the last X amount of years that, frankly, it’s been hard to keep up, even internally.” (0:15 onwards)

Woods has made very few competitive appearances in recent seasons. The 49-year-old has not played on the PGA Tour since missing the cut at The Open Championship in July 2024. He recently hosted the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas but did not compete.

Earlier this year Tiger Woods underwent another back surgery, and there is no clear timeline for his return. Despite his absence Woods continues to be involved in decisions affecting the Tour.

Tiger Woods’ return to competitive golf remains uncertain as he continues his recovery from back surgery. The 82-time PGA Tour winner has not set a date for his comeback and says he plans to move carefully before committing to any schedule.

Woods recently spoke to The Palm Beach Post, where he addressed questions about his future on the course. He has been sidelined since undergoing surgery in October to replace a disc in his lower back. For now he says his focus is on getting healthy rather than planning events.

Tiger Woods explained that he wants to return to playing first before thinking about what his schedule might look like in 2026.

“Let me get back to playing again, let me do that, then I’ll try to figure out what the schedule will be. I’m way away from that part of it and that type of decision and that type of commitment level,” Woods said.

He also noted that his recovery will guide any decisions going forward. Having been through similar rehab processes before, Woods said he needs to see how his body responds to practice, competition, and recovery before making commitments.

Once he feels comfortable on the course again, Woods said he will decide how often he can play and where. In the past, he has suggested limiting his appearances to a small number of events, mainly majors and select PGA Tour tournaments.

Tiger Woods is set to turn 50 on December 30 which makes him eligible for the PGA Tour Champions. While there has been speculation about him joining the senior circuit, Woods has not confirmed any plans. He has also continued to stay involved in golf through appearances at the PNC Championship with his son Charlie and participation in the TGL indoor league.
