The Buffalo Bills finalized a trade to acquire DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears, reports confirmed on Thursday. The Bills will also receive a 2026 fifth-round pick, while the Bears get a 2026 second-round pick (No. 60) from Buffalo.
Moore won’t officially join the Bills until Wednesday. However, analyst Hayden Winks believes that Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane was bullied by fans on social media into making a move for the wideout.
“The Bills were bullied by the internet, and they just made a very costly mistake,” Winks said on the “NFL Underdog Draft” show on Friday. “With the DJ Moore details finally hitting the internet. … I don’t know why they are doing that. This is a pretty risky decision here. Moore is a good fit for the offense, but he is also a declining wide receiver, too.”

The Bills made it to the divisional round of the playoffs last season, where they lost to the Denver Broncos in overtime. However, Buffalo will give its quarterback, Josh Allen, another offensive weapon in Moore to target next season as the team plans to make a push for the Super Bowl.

DJ Moore will enter his ninth year in the NFL in 2026 season

The Carolina Panthers drafted DJ Moore with the No. 24 pick in the 2018 NFL draft. Moore played with them for five years before being traded to the Bears in March 2023.
Moore played the past three seasons with the Bears. In the 2025 season, the wideout had the lowest output of his career, posting 50 receptions and 682 yards, but he still managed six touchdowns in the regular season, helping Chicago win the NFC North.
It will be interesting to see how Moore fares with the Bills next season, which will be his ninth year in the NFL.
