The former Oklahoma University standout turned YouTube golf star drained a seven-footer for birdie in the pouring rain on East Lake’s 18th hole to win the event pitting 12 of golf’s biggest content creators and take down the $100,000 first-place prize. Not too shabby for playing nine holes of golf!
But what makes the clip extra cool is that the horn for dangerous weather goes off just seconds after Dalke, representing Good Good Golf, made his putt to hold off Sean Walsh, Micah Morris and last year’s winner, Luke Kwon. Have a look:
“Feels awesome to win, haven’t won an individual competitive golf tournament in a long time, felt the nerves coming down the stretch,” Dalke told PGATour.com after the win. “Proud of myself for how I handled the pressure, and I was able to make a winning putt at East Lake.”
If you’re not following the YouTube scene, but you feel like you recognized Dalke’s name, it’s possibly because he was the hotshot junior golfer who beat Rory McIlroy in an arm wrestling contest a decade ago. Man, time flies. And now, like Rory, he can say he’s won a golf tournament at East Lake.
