Andrew Berry’s Cleveland Browns will start the 2026 NFL season with plenty of new faces. They fired Kevin Stefanski and replaced him with Todd Monken as head coach. Jim Schwartz is no longer the defensive coordinator, and the roster will look different, too.
Star tight end David Njoku and offensive lineman Wyatt Teller announced they wouldn’t return to the team with social media posts. Njoku took to Instagram to thank the organization for its support.
“Cleveland, first off I love you. These 9 years have been a beautiful journey. I’m am so grateful for all the memories we shared together. Thank you to The Haslams, Andrew Berry and the whole browns organization for everything!! All my teammates I shared the battle with I’m so grateful for you guys. The time for me to find a new home has come and all I can think of is just the gratefulness in my heart. The city of Cleveland will forever be home❤️” Njoku wrote.

On Tuesday, Browns general manager Andrew Berry discussed Njoku’s post. He showered the veteran with praise, making it clear he will always have a special place in the franchise’s history.
“If David’s not back, he’ll be a Brown for life,” Berry said. “I’m sure whenever he does hang ’em up, he’ll be a Dawg Pound Captain at the beginning of the games and I’m sure he’ll smash the guitar with his shirt off.”

Andrew Berry sees a growth opportunity for Shedeur Sanders
Andrew Berry touched on the expectations for Shedeur Sanders ahead of the quarterback’s sophomore season. Berry explained that he still has room to grow, but he already showed flashes during his rookie campaign.
“I think the biggest thing we want to see from Shedeur is just continued growth,” Berry said. “I think he grew a lot from start one to start seven. Certainly, playing more efficiently, not putting the ball in harm’s way as much will be important while maintaining the ability to produce out of structure and generate explosive plays.”
The Browns will have an open competition at quarterback, with Sanders having another chance to prove his value.
