Caleb Williams drops 5-word message after inaccurate throws at NBA Celebrity 3-Point Contest

Caleb Williams drew a lot of laughs from fans with his shambolic performance when he took part in the celebrity three-point contest. What started as a light-hearted curtain-raiser for the NBA All-Star Weekend turned into a cringeworthy showing for the Chicago Bears quarterback.

Fresh from his second season in the NFL, Williams joined a host of celebrities, including comedian Druski and streamer PlaqueBoyMax, on Friday night for the contest. However, the quarterback couldn’t replicate his football field accuracy, struggling mightily beyond the arc.

Caleb Williams finished dead last with just four points in 15 attempts as many of his shots clanged off the rim or sailed well wide of the mark. It was humorous to many fans that the 2023 NFL draft No. 1 pick finished behind Druski, who had five points, in the three-point contest.

Following the contest, Williams himself had a sense of humor about his misfiring outing. The quarterback took to social media to drop a five-word message as he showed his hoop shoes, indicating an end to his basketball career before it even started.

Williams found his feet in the NFL in the 2025 season following the struggles of his rookie year. With 3,942 passing yards and 27 touchdowns, he engineered one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. That said, it’s now clear he won’t be switching sports anytime soon.

Caleb Williams ranked the best QB in the NFC North

Following his outstanding Year in the NFL, Caleb Williams has been ranked the best quarterback in the NFC North. This came in NFL.com’s Nick Shook ranking of all starting quarterbacks during the 2025 season. The Bears signal-caller ranked No. 7 overall.

“Caleb Williams steadily improved throughout his first season under Ben Johnson and produced some incredible heroics in the postseason, powering an unbelievable comeback over the Packers on Wild Card Weekend and nearly doing the same against the Rams in the Divisional Round,” Shook wrote.

“Perhaps I’m a sucker for recency and hyperbole, but by the end of this season, Williams is among the quarterbacks I think of first when I ask the question: Who defined the 2025 season?”

Williams won hearts during his first season under Ben Johnson with his deep ball ability and playmaking prowess that resulted in an NFL-record seven fourth-quarter comebacks. His play in the just-concluded season clears out all doubts that surrounded him after his rookie year.
