Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams took a jab at Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase after he fumbled his name on Thursday on the Pat McAfee Show.
It looked like Chase mixed up Caleb Williams and Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels’ name and blurted out “Caleb Daniels.” McAfee played along for a brief moment before finally asking him who was “Caleb Daniels.”
“Who is Caleb Daniels? I don’t know what the f**k his first name is,” Higgins said. “Who’s the quarterback for the Bears?”
Caleb Williams responded tactfully on social media by retweeting a picture of the scoreline when the Bears faced the Bengals last November. The quarterback engineered an impressive 47-42 comeback victory on the road.

In that game, the Bengals took a 20-17 lead heading into halftime. With 4:53 left in the fourth quarter, Williams and his team made a comeback and took a 40-27 lead. However, Joe Flacco then found wide receiver Andrei Iosivas with a nine-yard TD pass to level the game before McPherson scored the extra point for a 42-41 advantage.
However, with just 17 seconds on the clock, Caleb Willias found tight end Colston Loveland with a 58-yard touchdown pass, helping his team emerge victorious. They then went on to win the NFC North and qualify for the playoffs. However, the Bears’ hopes of competing in the Super Bowl were crushed by the Rams in a divisional-round showdown.
On the other hand, the Bengals had an underwhelming season. Quarterback Joe Burrow missed several games due to an injury. They finished third in the NFC North with a 6-11 record, failing to qualify for the playoffs.

Taking a look at Caleb Williams’ 2025 season
The Bears drafted Caleb Williams with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. He struggled during his rookie campaign under former coach Matt Eberflus. The quarterback recorded 3,541 yards and 20 TDs passing while the team finished dead last in the NFC North with a 5-12 record.
This season, the Bears brought in Ben Johnson as the new coach after firing Matt Eberflus. Many experts and analysts predicted Williams to have a “sophomore slump” despite playing under an offensive guru like Johnson.
However, the quarterback proved his critics wrong. During the regular season, Williams recorded 3,942 yards and 27 TDs passing. In the playoffs, he tallied 618 yards and four TDs passing.
Despite failing to make the Super Bowl, Williams impressed with his performance while regaining the trust of the Bears fanbase. They are hopeful of making another playoff run this upcoming season and potentially winning their first Lombardi Trophy since Super Bowl XX.
