LPGA Tour pro Charley Hull’s teammate has received support for his Presidents Cup debut from a former PGA Tour pro. The 2026 Presidents Cup will be held at Medinah Country Club in Chicago, Illinois, from September 22 to 27. It will feature Brandt Snedeker and Geoff Ogilvy as captains of the US and International Team, respectively.
According to Brendon de Jonge, Charley Hull’s 2025 Grant Thornton Invitational teammate, Michael Brennan, has “that extra gear.” Jonge tipped for Brennan’s Presidents Cup debut while talking to 5 Clubs and stated:
“I’m huge on Michael Brennan. I walked with him at Sea Island earlier this year. I mean, talk about the guy that’s got that extra gear, plays like an athlete, and Michael Brennan’s got now a little bit of freedom.
“The fact that he’s got that win in his rookie year, he’s going to have the ability to go out there and play and not worry about trying to keep your card… I think we’re going to see big things out of Michael Brennan as well. Don’t be at all surprised to see him play on that Presidents Cup team.”
Take a look at Jonge’s statement via 5 Clubs’ YouTube video:
Brennan bagged his maiden PGA Tour victory at the 2025 Bank of Utah Championship. Apart from that, the golfer has played only one major championship, the 2023 U.S. Open, where he failed to make the cut.
Brennan became Charley Hull’s Grant Thornton teammate following PGA Tour pro Daniel Berger’s withdrawal. During the three-day mixed golf event, the duo led at the end of Day 1 but ended the tournament with a T2 finish.
Charley Hull praised her Grant Thornton Invitational teammate Michael Brennan
After the final round of the Grant Thornton Invitational, Charley Hull and Michael Brennan expressed their feelings about the week at Tibúron Golf Club. Moreover, Hull talked about her experience of playing with Brennan.
Hull said in the interview (quotes via Grant Thornton Invitational transcripts):
“Yeah, I really enjoyed playing with Michael. He’s got a great game and it’s just so much fun. We said this was probably one of the most fun weeks of the year and it was great. Obviously we were just trying to hole out on the last hole, but they played great. I just had such a fun week, so thank you…”
While the professional golfer from Kettering complimented Brennan’s game, he also praised Hull in the interview. The golfer labeled her a baller and stated that he found her game impressive.
