Christian Watson fires back at Lions CB Amik Robertson for calling Packers WR “soft” after referee’s questionable call

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson clapped back at Detroit Lions cornerback Amik Robertson on social media. The NFC North rivals kicked off the 2025 Thanksgiving slate with an entertaining matchup at Ford Field.

The Packers won 31-24, sweeping the regular-season series after winning the first duel in Week 1. Robertson vented his frustration on the referees on Thursday with a social media post.

He criticized the officials over Jordan Love’s 51-yard touchdown with Watson in the third quarter. Robertson alleged he was pushed on the play that gave the Packers a 24-14 lead.

“Dawg, Yall lets these soft WRs get away with too much shi but be ready to throw a flag when we touch these divas. You clearly see the push off separation on this weak route. It’s all good though.”

The Green Bay Packers improved to 8-3-1, while the Lions dropped to 7-5. The NFC North appears to be a two-team race after Green Bay and the Chicago Bears won their respective Week 13 games. The Lions have several things to fix to get back on track, or their season could end up in a major catastrophe.

Revisiting Christian Watson’s performance against the Detroit Lions

Christian Watson made his season debut in Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, making an immediate impact on the Packers with 85 yards on four receptions. He posted his second-best performance of the season against the Lions, catching four passes on 10 targets for 80 yards and one touchdown. Watson has become a key player for Green Bay, posting 21 receptions on 34 targets for 363 yards and three touchdowns.

Jordan Love wasn’t as accurate as normal, going 18 of 30 for 234 yards and four touchdowns.

Dontayvion Wicks added six receptions for 94 yards and two touchdowns, while Josh Jacobs contributed 83 yards on 17 carries. The Packers’ final stretch of the season will test them. They will clash with the Bears on Dec. 7, before facing the Denver Broncos on Dec. 14. Their last three matchups (at Bears, vs. the Baltimore Ravens and at Minnesota Vikings) are yet to be scheduled.
