Cam Young is among a number of Team USA players in line for a Ryder Cup debut this week and Collin Morikawa has now challenged his teammate to do something out of the ordinary.
Young finally became a PGA Tour winner in 2025 despite a number of near-misses and his place in the final 12 was more than deserved.
A New Yorker, Young is expected to be among the crowd favourites at Bethpage Black and his big-hitting style could well excite the home fans.
Still, beyond that big-hitting style and all-action golf game is a man who is very reserved and quiet.

Young has built a reputation around being a calm presence and someone who, in the main, doesn’t get too excited.
However, for Collin Morikawa, that’s something he’d like to see change, especially in front of Young’s home fans in New York.

Collin Morikawa calls on Cam Young to show some passion in New York
Collin Morikawa will play in his third Ryder Cup this year and with a decent enough record to his name, he’ll feel he can pass on his experience despite only being young himself.
Morikawa won three of his four matches the last time the cup was held in the USA, halving the other.
As for Cam Young, it’s his debut and according to Morikawa, it’s high time we saw some real passion from the New Yorker.
