Daniel Jones revolutionized the Indianapolis Colts with his display during 14 weeks of the 2025 NFL season. The veteran quarterback joined the AFC South team surrounded by doubts after a tumultuous six-year tenure with the New York Giants, where he failed to unlock his potential.
Jones played hard until the last moment, even after he suffered a season-ending Achilles injury against the Jacksonville Jaguars. During an appearance on Kay Adams’ “Up & Adams” show, Jones’ teammate Michael Pittman discussed the quarterback’s toughness.
“One thing people didn’t really take into account is how he still completed the throw after it happened,” Pittman began. “We have all these jokes about being tough, but Dan might actually be one of the toughest guys I’ve ever met. I always see him close to me, Alec (Pierce), Tyler Warren, Daniel, Riley Leonard and a bunch of other guys.
He added that the team is full of tough people, but Daniel Jones earned a special place after Sunday’s display, while ignoring Richardson.

“We’re always joking about being tough and who is the toughest… But I mean, Dan is up there. Credit to him and the fight that he has. He just wanted it so bad and I just wanted it for him. I’m still excited for him; obviously, this season for him is done, but coming back next year, I think he laid the foundation to keep growing and everybody’s seen the way that he played and performed and I think that the future is bright for him.”
Pittman added that Jones showed huge commitment to the team and all the work he put in to lead the Colts to this position, saying it was enough to grant him a new contract with the organization.
Daniel Jones wrote emotional message after season-ending Achilles injury
Daniel Jones posted an emotional message to fans following his devastating Achilles injury.
“Thank you to my teammates, coaches, the Colts organization, and all the fans for the overwhelming support. Tough way to end this season, but it has been an honor to wear the horseshoe and play for Colts fans. I’ll miss lining up with my guys, but I’ll be riding with them every step of the way. Go Colts!” Jones wrote.
After beating Anthony Richardson to become the Colts’ QB1, Daniel Jones displayed his talent. He played 13 games, going 261 of 384 for 3,101 yards and 19 touchdowns with eight interceptions.
Jones joined the Colts on a one-year, $14 million deal, but he is expected to re-sign for a larger pay in the offseason.
