Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has expressed his feelings following his son Shedeur Sanders’ viral postgame moment with Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby. The Pro Football Hall of Famer took to his Instagram story, where he posted a picture of his son and Crosby, on which he wrote:

“I love this dude.”

Shedeur had earned his first NFL start in Sunday’s game against the Raiders, leading the Cleveland Browns to an important victory. The rookie quarterback completed 11 of 20 passes for 209 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.

Crosby led the Raiders’ defensive efforts, with three of the Raiders’ five quarterback hits. He also led the Raiders in tackles for a loss with five. Following the game, he exchanged a handshake and a few words of mutual admiration with Shedeur Sanders. The quarterback asked:

“Why’re you trying to hit the sh*t out of me, though?”

With smiles on both of their faces, Crosby responded:

“I was. That’s what the f*ck I do.”

Shedeur made history with his debut start for the Browns, becoming their first quarterback to win his debut start since Eric Zeier did in 1999. 17 consecutive passers had started for the Browns over the years, with no wins in their debuts.

The importance of Sunday’s win was not lost on Shdedeur, who remarked after the game:

“It’s amazing… after one week of practice. This is one week of practice. So imagine what a full offseason looks like… it gets dangerous. I’m just truly thankful that everything happened.”

Shedeur Sanders set to make another start for Cleveland

Despite Dillon Gabriel clearing concussion protocol, Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski has announced Shedeur Sanders will start the Browns’ next game against the San Francisco 49ers. Speaking at his Monday presser, the coach commented on the quarterback leading the Browns to their third win of the season last Sunday. He said:

“The No. 1 job of a quarterback is to win. So excited to get that first win under his belt. And the next thing is improvement, and that’s what young players do. Certainly, young quarterbacks do. You get one game better, and that’s just from working at it. So, that’ll be our focus.”

Shedeur got his NFL debut against the Baltimore Ravens after Gabriel suffered a concussion. It is still unclear what the future holds for the 23-year-old with the Browns. However, winning games for the team is one way to establish a long-term stay.
