Drake Maye led the New England Patriots to a commanding 27-14 victory over the New Jew York Jets on Thursday that clinched the AFC East lead. But that was not the only happy moment he had that night.

He also had sideline moments with his wife Ann Michael and a friend of hers, as she recollected in the slideshow below:

And he had an endearing one-word response to her:

Maye finished the game with 25 of 34 passing attempts completed for 281 yards and a touchdown to rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson, who also had two rushing scores. His leading target was Stefon Diggs, who caught nine passes for 105 yards.

After the game, he said:

“I think our fans have been great with me since I got here, since I got drafted. I just appreciate them for embracing me, and trying to embrace this city and give these fans and this team and just myself just leave it all out there and give it everything I got.”

Seth Rollins compares Drake Maye to WWE legend Randy Orton

As Drake Maye continues to impress on the field, he has drawn comparisons to Tom Brady, the legend who made the Patriots among the most successful franchises in the NFL – most recently by former tight end Rob Gronkowski on Dan Patrick’s eponymous show. But Seth Rollins has another in mind.

The recent World Heavyweight Champion, who is currently out of action with a shoulder injury, said on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football on Thursday before the Jets game:

“I was actually going to liken him to a young Randy Orton, and I say that because there is a ton of potential there, a ton of potential. And now you’re starting to see the actualization of that potential.”

He continued:

“I think, on a national level, the Patriots are an interesting team. I think a lot of people kind of just thought this is Buffalo’s division going into the season, right? There’s no chance anyone competes. And now you’re looking at a possible MVP candidate (in) Drake Maye.”

Maye and the Patriots will next visit the Cincinnati Bengals on November 23. Kickoff is at 1 pm ET on CBS.
