On Friday, the NFL won its grievance case against the NFLPA and the publication of its annual offseason report card. This bans the NFLPA from making these reports public as it violated the league’s Collective Bargaining Agreement.
After this decision came to light, analyst Craig Carton questioned the league’s priorities. He compared the situation to that of New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch and his connection with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
“The NFL decided that NFL players being critical of their owners and what they provide their players, facilities, the food, to work hours, etc, that that damages the shield and we have to stop that immediately,” Carton said on his eponymous show. “And the NFL goes to war with the NFLPA and very quickly the NFLPA loses it, and the NFL gets their way. No more report cards. That’s happened in the last 24 hours. In the same period of time, the NFL has decided that they didn’t find nothing wrong with one of their owners cavorting with Jeffrey Epstein.
“That’s not bad for the NFL shield. Cause the NFL, in the moment, … the Steve Tisch emails with Jeffrey Epstein are not problematic to the NFL shield but a player on the Jets saying Woody Johnson failed us when he came to ABCD is a problem for the shield. Pedophelia, sex trafficking, Epstein, not a problem for the shield. Saying I want better food or better bench press machine is a problem for the shield.”

According to the thousands of Epstein emails released to the public, Steve Tisch was found communicating with the sex offender on multiple occasions. Epstein reportedly introduced the Giants co-owner to multiple women.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell shared his thoughts on the situation during a press conference before Super Bowl LX.
“Absolutely, we will look at all the facts,” Goodell said. “We’ll look at the context of those and try to understand that. We’ll look at how that falls under the (league’s personal conduct) policy. I think we will take it one step at a time. Let’s get the facts first.”

Craig Carton urges the Giants to cut ties with Steve Tisch after Epstein drama
Steve Tisch currently owns 45% of the New York Giants. After his name came up in the Epstein files, Craig Carton urged the franchise to cut ties with him for the sake of their reputation.
“It’s a lot worse and a lot more pervasive than what was first announced on January 30,” Carton said on Thursday. “This is a problem the NFL is gonna have to deal with. This is a problem that the New York Giants, at some point, are gonna have to wrap their head around and say something about.”
On Friday, Steve Tisch released a statement regarding his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein and his name coming up in the files.
“We had a brief association where we exchanged emails about adult women, and in addition, we discussed movies, philantrophy and investments. I did not take him up on any of his invitations and never went to his island. As we all know, he was a terrible person and someone I deeply regret associating with.”
