The seven-time Pro Bowler also shared another tweet welcoming Mike Evans to San Francisco.
“Let’s goooo @MikeEvans13- welcome to the BAY!!!!”
According to reports, the 49ers signed Mike Evans after agreeing to a three-year deal worth $60.4 million. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had drafted him with the seventh overall pick in 2014. In 12 seasons, the wide receiver recorded 13,052 yards on 866 receptions and 108 touchdowns.
In 2024, Evans agreed to a two-year, $52 million extension with the Bucs. However, the two-time All-Pro saw limited playing time due to injuries and a concussion. In eight appearances, he recorded 368 yards and three TDs receiving.
On the other hand, George Kittle also agreed to a four-year extension worth $76.4 million with the 49ers. They managed to qualify for the playoffs despite multiple injuries.
However, their quest for a Super Bowl ended after a 41-6 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in a divisional-round game. George Kittle also suffered a torn Achilles during their wild-card victory over the Super Bowl LIX champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. This came after his previous hamstring injury during their season opener that sidelined him for a couple of games.
In 11 appearances, he recorded 628 yards on 57 receptions and seven touchdowns.

George Kittle injury update
George Kittle has been rehabilitating since tearing his Achilles tendon during the playoffs. In January, renowned surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache performed the surgery, after which the tight end discussed his recovery.
“Surgery went really, really, good,” Kittle said as per HawkCentral. “I had a clean tear. They didn’t have to drill into my heel, and where the repair was is where there’s more blood flow, and so it takes some time off the recovery time.
“(ElAttrache) is really excited about my recovery. … that puts me in a really good mood. It’s not as bad as the other ones.”
Kittle did not provide a specific timeline for his return. However, the seven-time Pro Bowler is hopeful of being available during the start of the 2026 season.
