Rory McIlroy watched the Miami Open while taking a break from the greens. The Northern Irish golfer has been enjoying downtime after his last outing at The Players Championship.
Away from the greens, he spent time watching the Miami Open. ATP shared a video of the world No. 2 golfer on its X (formerly Twitter) account with a caption.
“Golfing Royalty 👑 We would love to see a showdown between @McIlroyRory and @CasperRuud98🏌️♂️ @MiamiOpen| #MiamiOpen”
For his outing, Rory McIlroy wore a black T-shirt, white pants, and a white hat. The Northern Irish golfer had recently suffered an injury during a gym session at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He withdrew from the tournament after two rounds and then returned to play at The Players Championship.
He is next looking forward to defending his title at the Masters. However, before that, he is having a good time. McIlroy had caught people’s attention earlier this week after he shared the menu for his Champions Dinner.
Rory McIlroy opens up about the Masters dinner menu
Rory McIlroy will be hosting the Masters Champions Dinner on April 7 ahead of the first major of the year. He revealed the menu for his dinner earlier this week. It included 12 items, and he opened up about it in a press conference on March 18. He said:
“So the typical structure of Masters club dinner is you serve some appetizers with a drinks reception at the start, and then you move into the seated meal. So first course, second course, and then dessert.
“So for appetizers, I have done four. Firstly, my Mum does these really, really nice dates stuffed with goat cheese wrapped in bacon so I put those on the appetizers list. So thanks to Rosie for that one. In the buildup to the Masters last year, I was eating a lot of elk. I got this big shipment of elk, and I was eating a lot of that,” he added.
