Hero World Challenge champ Hideki Matsuyama enjoys ‘nothing’ as much as winning golf events

Following his win at the Hero World Challenge, Hideki Matsuyama said he enjoyed nothing as much as winning golf events. The star golfer’s comments came after he clinched his 21st professional title on Sunday.

On Sunday, December 7, Matsuyama posted a thrilling win at the Hero World Challenge. The Japanese star birdied the par-4 18th, beating Alex Noren in a thrilling playoff.

During the post-round interview, Hideki Matsuyama was asked if he liked anything more than winning golf events. The 11-time winner on the PGA Tour gave his answer in just a few words.

“No, nothing,” he replied.

The ace golfer also reflected on his round and his luck on the 10th hole.

“A lot of luck with No. 10 eagle, and also the partner with Alex, he played well like last four, five hole, so it was good mood playing together. No. 10, to win we need a birdie. Before he hits the second shot, Alex hits really good shot and I was able to, I got the great imagination from Alex and able to hit a great shot,” he added.

Hideki Matsuyama had a mixed season where he missed just three cuts in 23 starts but posted just one top-ten finish. Besides that, his top-ten finish was his win at The Sentry, the inaugural event of the year.

The ace golfer also finished the year win the win at the Hero World Challenge. Overall, he had 12 top-25 finishes and finished 29th in the FedEx Cup.
