Dan Orlovsky has been garnering heat lately for his hot takes. He was among the group of panelists who predicted that the Houston Texans would defeat the New England Patriots in the Divisional Round, only for them to lose 28-16.
On Monday’s episode of Get Up, he made another bold move by defending Josh Allen after the Buffalo Bills’ 33-30 overtime loss at the Denver Broncos:
“The Josh fumble right before the half, Josh can’t do this, he knows he can’t do this. Buffalo is there to recover the fumble, and they don’t; their big guy doesn’t get on the ball, and they don’t. That’s three points once again.”
After that, Black Sport Online’s Robert Littal tore into him:

“I know ESPN loves Dan Orlovsky but the day he figured out you make more money acting like Stephen A. Smith than just breaking down the games fairly, he’s become one of the worst watches in sports media, and that’s why he’s getting paid.”

Dan Orlovsky claims Texans would have beaten Patriots with different QB
Back on the subject of the Texans-Patriots game, Dan Orlovsky thinks the result would have been different had CJ Stroud not played.
The 2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year was putrid, completing 20 passes for 212 yards and four interceptions – including a pick-six to Marcus Jones – against a single touchdown to Christian Kirk. On the same episode of Get Up, Orlovsky said:
“If you’re Houston, you win that game with 31 other quarterbacks. … It’s unfortunate that we don’t get this defense not only in the AFC title game, but then, more than likely, the Super Bowl. “
One person who took offense with that notion was NESN’s Evan Cormier, who wrote:
“(Eighteen) other quarterbacks had a chance to beat Houston, and Drake Maye’s Patriots put up more points than all but one of them. So why… is (the Patriots’) performance deemed not good enough to beat ‘any other quarterback in the league? … The double standards are reaching historic lows for the coverage of the AFC East champions.'”
The Patriots will visit the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game. Kickoff is at 3:05 pm ET pn CBS.
