The Baltimore Ravens grabbed headlines on Tuesday after backing out of their trade for Las Vegas Raiders’ five-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Maxx Crosby amid health concerns.
The Ravens had agreed to send two first-round draft picks (2026 and 2027) to Las Vegas for Crosby last week. However, the Ravens called off the trade because of medical reasons pertaining to Crosby’s meniscus injury last season. The veteran Pro Bowler also underwent knee surgery in January.
NFL insider Jonathan Jones revealed that Crosby’s knee and ankle issues impacted his practice sessions with the Raiders. Multiple teams reportedly had concerns about the veteran star’s knee injury during their evaluation.
“Crosby’s true medical evaluation is likely to be debated between these teams for years to come,” Jones wrote. “Sources at multiple teams reached out to CBS Sports Tuesday night to say they had concerns about Crosby’s knee during their own evaluation process.

“A Raiders source during Crosby’s tenure with the team said he struggled to get through light practices at times due to knee and ankle issues.”
Following the Ravens’ decision, the Dallas Cowboys, who were initially pursuing Crosby, have been linked with a late move for the Pro Bowler. However, a potential trade remains unlikely.

Maxx Crosby’s agent shares Raiders star’s health status after failed trade to Ravens
Amid Maxx Crosby’s health concerns, the Pro Bowler’s agent, CJ LaBoy, updated on his recovery and claimed that the Raiders star would return to his dominant self in 2026.
“Maxx continues to be on track in his recovery and if anything is ahead of schedule,” LaBoy wrote on X. “Maxx remains on track to return during the offseason program & will undoubtedly return as the dominant game wrecker he has been these past 7 seasons.”
The Raiders are reportedly fielding offers from NFL teams after his trade to the Ravens broke down. Raiders could also retain Crosby if they are unable to find a potential suitor in the coming days.
