Jannik Sinner arranges Carlos Alcaraz US Open title clash

Jannik Sinner will compete in his fifth consecutive Major final! World no. 1 faced Felix Auger-Aliassime in the US Open semi-final and scored a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory in three hours and 21 minutes.

Thus, the Italian extended his marvelous hard-court streak at Majors and became only the fourth player to reach the final at all four Majors in a season. Jannik will face his greatest rival, Carlos Alcaraz, in a blockbuster title clash.

Sinner experienced abdominal discomfort and asked for a medical timeout. However, he bounced back after the second set and sealed the deal to remain on the title course.

The Italian served at 53%. He faced ten break points and denied nine, reducing his rival to a single break and keeping the pressure on the other side. Felix fought well but struggled on the second serve.

The Canadian played against 11 break points and got broken four times, ending his best US Open run in four years in the last four. Jannik fired 33 winners and 22 unforced errors while leaving Felix on a 36-41 ratio.

The favorite dominated the opener, serving well and providing breaks in games two and six for 6-1. Auger-Aliassime played a brilliant second set. He dropped one point on serve and secured his only break in the eighth game.

Felix held at 5-3 to wrap up the set and level the overall score. Despite the injury scare, Jannik recovered his serve and provided five comfortable holds in the third set. He grabbed a break in the sixth game and held at love at 5-3 to move in front.

The Italian survived a scare early in the fourth set. He saved five break points and remained on the positive side. He recovered and clinched a break in the fifth game for a 3-2 advantage.

Auger-Aliassime saved two more break points in the seventh game and remained within one break deficit. However, Sinner held at 15 at 5-4 to seal the deal and extend his streak of Major finals.
