Mike Tomlin shocked the NFL world by announcing his sudden resignation following the 2025 season. He spent 19 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and led them to Super Bowl appearances while winning Super Bowl XLIII.

However, after Tomlin’s resignation, the rumor mill started churning about how this decision was linked to his own off-field troubles. The former Steelers coach had allegedly violated the NFL’s personal conduct policy because he was having an extramarital affair and got his side woman pregnant.

On Saturday, the Steelers announced that Mike McCarthy will be taking over as Mike Tomlin’s replacement. Following this decision, Jason Whitlock shared his thoughts on the whole situation while talking about Tomlin’s extramarital affair rumors.

“The McCarthy hire in Pittsburgh screams the Steelers weren’t even remotely considering dumping Tomlin. They had no plan and no one in mind. Pretty amazing. Particularly given all the off-field rumors about Tomlin. Sleep at the wheel,” Whitlock tweeted.

The “Flo Show No Filter” host, Harold White, was the first to break the news about Tomlin’s personal life rumors. He had shared a video on Instagram where he boasted 144k followers. White claimed that the former Steelers coach tried to pay hush money after getting the other woman pregnant while his wife was battling cancer.

“Why is there a rumor going around about the real reason that Mike Tomlin stepped down from coaching the Pittsburgh Steelers is because he got a side woman pregnant while his wife has cancer and he broke the personal conduct rule or something,” White said. “And so they trying to keep everything hush.

“People that work with her are verifying this and they saying that he paid her $3.5 million to stay quiet.”

This season, Mike Tomlin and theSteelers qualified for the playoffs as the AFC North champions. However, they lost to the Houston Texans in the wild-card round, ending their hopes of competing in the Super Bowl.

Mike Tomlin shares his thoughts on the Ravens firing John Harbaugh after 18 seasons

There have been major coaching changes over the past few weeks. One of those that made headlines was the firing of Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh after 18 years.

Harbaugh finished with an 8-9 record, failing to qualify for the playoffs this season. Mike Tomlin shared his thoughts on the situation.

“First, I have so much respect for Harbaugh,” Tomlin said on the “Rich Eisen” show. “You know, in terms of him being let go, unfortunately, I think it’s just a component of today’s sport culture.

“But more than anything, I just think, you know, a larger example of today’s sport culture in terms of not a lot of patience and the entertainment component of what it is that we do, there’s just not a long of longevity.”

The Ravens have already named Jesse Minter as their new coach, a few days after firing Harbaugh. He spent the last two seasons as the defensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Chargers.
