Jeeno Thitikul sets new LPGA single-season scoring record, beats Annika Sorenstam

Jeeno Thitikul sets a new LPGA Tour single-season scoring record. She enjoyed a marvellous season on the circuit this year. She has recently won the 2025 CME Group Tour Championship and has recorded a single-season scoring average of 68.681.

Thitikul has surpassed Annika Sörenstam’s record. Golf journalist Beth Ann Nichols shared the stats on her X (formerly Twitter) account with a caption:

Jeeno Thitikul opened up about surpassing Annika Sörenstam’s record in the post-round press conference after winning the CME Group Tour Championship on Sunday. She said (via ASAP Sports):

“Definitely. Hope Annika was not going to be angry on that. To be honest I didn’t think about that at all. Like Vare Trophy is the one that I think every players wanted to win for sure.

“It’s mean you’re having the lowest round for entire year, which mean you definitely going to be on top of the Tour for sure in that year. I think that’s really honor for me to be able to win it for the second time of my career,” she added.

Thitikul had won three LPGA Tour events this season and was awarded the Rolex Player of the Year award. She previously won the Mizuho Americas Open and then won the Buick LPGA Shanghai before winning the CME Group Tour Championship.


Jeeno Thitikul reflects on her win at the CME Group Tour Championship

Jeeno Thitikul started her campaign at the 2025 CME Group Tour Championship with the opening round of 67. She then played the next three rounds of 63, 64, and 68 to register a win in the game.

In the post-round press conference, she talked about her performance and said (via ASAP Sports):

“I think earlier of the week I just saying be able to finish four round of golf here just more than I could ask for already, but standing here with the trophy on Sunday, hold the trophy, it’s just like more than I really, really could ask for for sure. I mean, like all that work that I put in with my team kind of paid off here today again.”

Jeeno Thitikul had played 20 tournaments this season on the LPGA Tour and made the cut in 19 of them. She had 14 finishes in the top 10.

Thitikul started her campaign on the LPGA Tour at the Honda LPGA Thailand and settled in solo third place. She was then runner-up at the HSBC Women’s World Championship.

She had a fantastic start to the season but then missed the cut at the U.S. Women’s Open. but bounced back and had some other impressive performances, such as runner-up at the FM Championship and the Kroger Queen City Championship.
