Jeffery Simmons had a one-two gut punch over the weekend. It started with a loss to the San Francisco 49ers and ended with discovering his house had been robbed. Simmons posted pictures of the break-in on Instagram via Titans reporter Easton Freeze on Monday.

The images showed what appeared to be a broken glass window and a hammer on the ground. Simmons claimed the burglary was planned out.

“God is the Greatest and I’m his son!!” he posted. “Whoever you are, just know he sit high and look Low. You’ll get what you deserve you f***ing cowards!”

“Lol bro this s***t was planned out… big a** home and y’all hit one room? You knew exactly where my master room was?? Yea okayyyyy smh…”

Simmons is the latest victim in a string of mid-game burglaries that have plagued several NFL players. Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Milwaukee Bucks player Bobby Portis are just some of the players who have seen their belongings taken while they’re away on television.

While his belongings are compromised, Jeffery Simmons accomplished something that could be a step toward getting him some new belongings. Simmons logged his ninth sack of the season against the San Francisco 49ers. The sack set a career record in the category, eclipsing his previous 8.5 sack record in 2021.

With three games remaining, including two against sub-.500 teams, Simmons has an opportunity to cross into double-digit sacks for the first time in his career.

The career high comes in the shadow of a big moment for the pass rusher. According to Spotrac, Simmons is heading into a window of his contract in which the Tennessee Titans will be financially incentivized to move on from the pass rusher.

Jeffery Simmons’ $94 million deal is set to run through the 2027 season. However, the Titans can cut ties and start saving money as soon as 2026. Simmons, heading into an age 29 season, will have every reason to restart negotiations after 2025.

If he waits until 2027 at age 30, he will lose some of the leverage as a player old enough to be viewed as past his prime. However, if he can get a new deal after hitting the highest sack total of his career before 2026, it would seemingly get him more money than if he decides to wait.

Either way, the Tennessee Titans star now has two problems to deal with.
