Joe Burrow drops cryptic message hinting at potential trade destinations 2 days after Bengals decide on Zac Taylor and Duke Tobin’s future

Will Joe Burrow leave Zac Taylor, Duke Tobin behind?

Joe Burrow has finished the first year of a $275-million extension with his third-ever playoff absence and first losing record since his NFL debut. And as 2026 looms, he may already be looking at a future outside the team that drafted him.

On Wednesday, the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback took to Instagram to reflect on the 2025 season. He also used Kanye West’s “Good Life” feat. T-Pain as background music for the slideshow.

And one reaction that stood out came from former Green Bay Packers quarterback Kurt Benkert who interpreted one line as wanting to play for one of the Falcons, Rams/Chargers, Giants/Jets, and Dolphins:

“It feel like Atlanta, it feel like LA, it feel like Miami, it feel like NY” 👀 Anyone peep that?

Burrow’s teammate Tee Higgins, however, rejected the notion:

No dice

The post came two days after the Bengals announced that they would retain head coach Zac Taylor and de facto general manager Duke Tobin for the 2026 season. In a statement, owner Mike Brown said:

“They have proven they can build and lead teams that compete for championships. We trust their plans and expect to return to our desired level of success.”

Burrow’s future with the team, however, is less than certain. Last month, he made this startling admission about his career:

“If I want to keep doing this, I have to have fun doing it. I’ve been through a lot, and if it’s not fun, then what am I doing it for?”

The day after he made those comments, his mother Robin addressed speculation about his happiness within the organization in an appearance on The KiddChris Show:

“I wasn’t really worried about Joe getting hurt ever until he had his first big injury here… And since then, now, I’m definitely a lot more worried on game day about his safety But it’s a part of the game, it’s a part of his business, and it’s a risk, certainly. We love the game, and he loves the game. It’s what he loves to do. He loves playing here in Cincinnati.”

Joe Burrow praises Shedeur Sanders in previously-unseen footage from Bengals Browns season finale

On Wednesday, new footage emerged of Joe Burrow praising Shedeur Sanders after the Bengals lost 20-18 at home against the Cleveland Browns last Sunday.

In the video below, he can he heard saying:

“You’re fun to watch. Look forward to watching you next year.”

The Browns will have a new head coach after firing Kevin Stefanski a day after that game.
