John Daly’s top tip for struggling golfers with what to do in the warm-up before rounds

John Daly has been around the block enough times to have the experience and quality to pass advice on to amateurs and in true Daly fashion, he doesn’t beat around the bush when giving out the advice.

Daly won the PGA Championship in 1991 and then landed The Open in 1995 to write his name into the history books.

As we all know, Daly is one of the game’s great characters and even now as Daly posts high rounds of 88 and worse on the Champions Tour, he’s still loved by fans around the world.

Of course, in the modern game, Daly is approaching 60 and at the point in life where he likes to pass on knowledge.

And looking back at a tip Daly had for the average amateur when he was closer to his prime, it’s worth taking on board his advice.

John Daly’s blunt tip for amateurs using the wrong golf clubs

We see and hear it all the time in the amateur game as golfers try to force their way around a course and in doing so, try to hit clubs too hard.

With that comes a lack of accuracy and ultimately, a drop in confidence.

However, with that thought in mind, John Daly once suggested there’s something very simple amateurs can do to navigate the problems in hitting the golf ball.

“Another tip would be, especially if you’re struggling, would be to take your favourite club, every amateur has a favourite, I don’t care if it’s a driver a sand wedge or whatever, just go warm up with it,” Daly said.
