Justin Thomas is playing with no apparel logo on his clothes these days. The American golfer is gearing up to play this week on the PGA Tour at The Players Championship.

Ahead of the start of the tournament, he attended a pre-tournament press conference on Monday and opened up about playing this week with no apparel deal.

“I’m wearing whatever I want every day I wake up,” Thomas said.”It’s kind of nice. Yeah, we’ve kind of joked and seen each other here and there and we’ll kind of look at what they’re wearing, kind of look at the tag, see what’s going on.

“But, yeah, just was one of those things that, you know, when it’s right and when something makes sense, the timing, it will be what it is. But now, for the time being, yeah, I’m just kind of enjoying what I’m most comfortable in and whatever it is at that specific time,” he added.

Justin Thomas was away from the field for five months. He underwent surgery in November and has since been recovering from it. He, however, finally played in his first event of the season last week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational but struggled on the course. The tournament has a cutline after 36 holes, and he struggled to make the cut. Thomas played the two rounds of 79 to settle with a score of 14 over.

Justin Thomas shares his excitement to play at The Players Championship

Justin Thomas is excited to play at The Players Championship. He opened up about the tournament on Monday in the press conference.

“Always excited to be here,” Thomas said. “Generally it’s not my second event of the season is here, so I’m sure it feels like this event came quickly for a lot of the guys in terms of how fast the season goes, but a little bit more so for me, given my situation.”

“But I’m always happy to be at TPC Sawgrass and playing in THE PLAYERS. It’s been one of my favorite events, one of my favorite courses since the first time I got here in my rookie year so excited to be here,” he added.

The Players Championship will start with its opening round on Thursday, March 12. Last year, Justin Thomas had a decent outing at the event. He had a tough start with an opening round of 78, but then quickly bounced back with a round of 62.

He carded the final two rounds of 73 to settle in a tie for 33rd place. Last season was pretty impressive for the American golfer. He won the RBC Heritage while he was the runner-up at the Valspar Championship and the Truist Championship. It would be interesting to see how things will unfold for him this week.
