Kai Trump is taking a break from golf after undergoing wrist surgery with her focus now on recovering fully and returning without pain. Trump shared the update on Instagram saying she had surgery on Thursday, January 8 to fix ongoing pain in her left wrist.

The procedure was done in Pennsylvania and addressed issues with her ECU tendon along with damage to the triangular fibrocartilage complex. She said she will spend the next few months in rehabilitation. Her main goal is to get back on the course and play golf “pain free.”

Trump is a senior at The Benjamin School and is set to play college golf at the University of Miami in the Class of 2026. She also made her LPGA debut in November 2025 at The Annika on a sponsor’s exemption. Trump missed the cut but said the start gave her valuable experience at the professional level.

Earlier in the fall Trump also played varsity events for the Benjamin School before stepping away from postseason competition to pursue the LPGA opportunity. She was later named second-team All-County among small-school golfers by The Palm Beach Post in December.

Kai Trump says she wants to stay away from politics

Kai Trump has made it clear that she does not want to be involved in politics and prefers to focus on her own career path. Speaking on the Impaulsive with Logan Paul on Tuesday, January 6 Kai was asked about politics and whether she felt any rivalry during the 2024 election. She responded by saying she keeps her distance from political matters.

“To be honest with you, I stay out of politics completely. I would never run, I don’t want anything to do with politics because I feel like politics is such a dangerous thing. I think if both sides met in the middle everyone would be so much happier.”

When asked about Kamala Harris and whether there was any tension Kai said there was “no bad blood” and added “It is what it is.” (via People)

Kai Trump has said her main focus is on golf and building her presence online. She has around 1.4 million subscribers on YouTube where she shares golf related videos along with moments from her daily life.

She is the eldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump. Despite her family background Kai has continued to keep politics separate from her personal goals which include pursuing golf at a higher level and growing her platform as a creator.
