Katt Williams Blames Fans for Giving Kanye West a God Complex

Katt Williams Accuses Fans of Fueling Kanye West’s God Complex

When Shannon asked Katt about Kanye, the actor blamed his fans for being awful and allowing Ye to think that he’s superior to others.

“I suspect that we’re pretty awful people if we say that somebody got a mental illness and then we watch what they do,” Katt explained at the 2:33-mark in the video below.

“If you say somebody got special needs, then why would you be watching them and holding them accountable like everybody else? Wouldn’t you grade them on a curve? Wouldn’t you go, ‘Whew, this guy?'”

“Because, I mean, what are we reacting to? What are we reacting to? You are the one that put him in a position where he thought he was God and could call himself Yeezus,” he continued. “You’re the one that told the guy that writes musical lyrics that he was a genius. What do you expect? The guy married a whore.”

“I didn’t mean it like that. I mean he married her because she was one, not that he didn’t know,” Katt added. “He understood that he wanted that. He courted that. That’s what he wanted to be base his family on.”

Williams said Kanye was “the weird guy in the beginning,” so people shouldn’t be shocked by what’s happened in the years since he became famous.

Katt Williams Shades Diddy on Club Shay Shay

In the nearly three-hour sit-down, Katt also dished on some of the seedy stuff that goes on behind the scenes in the entertainment industry. At one point, the Friday After Next actor claimed he turned down $50 million on multiple occasions to protect his “virgin hole” from powerful industry bigwigs. He also discussed the alleged invites he’s received to Diddy’s parties.

“I’ve had to turned down $50 million four times,” Katt revealed at the 1:43:32-mark of the convo below. “Four times. Just to protect my integrity and that virgin hole I was telling you about,” he adds, referencing earlier comments about some actors having to commit sex acts to get roles.

“‘Cause P. Diddy be wanting to party and you gotta tell him no,” he added. “You got to tell him no. I did. See, I got receipts for everything I’m telling you. That’s why I can say them so freely.”

Katt didn’t hold his tongue in this wild interview.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. Bank

JPMorgan Chase Bank was one of the first companies to sever its ties with Kanye. Controversial far-right personality Candance Owens, who is a friend of Ye, shared an alleged letter on from the financial institution on her Twitter account informing the Chicago rapper to take his money elsewhere. While reports have suggested that JPMorgan Chase was dissolving their relationship with Ye due to his anti-Semitic remarks, an insider reportedly told ABC7 Chicago that was not the case.
Apparently, JPMorgan sent the letter to Kanye back in September of 2022 after he publicly stated that he wanted to end his relationship with the bank. According to reports, Kanye was angry that JPMorgan was allegedly refusing him access to Jamie Dimon, the bank’s CEO and chairman. Kanye has alluded that JPMorgan had canceled him.

On Oct. 21, 2022, French fashion house Balenciaga revealed to Women’s Wear Daily that they have parted ways with the Chicago rapper-producer following his controversial remarks and behaviors. “Balenciaga has no longer any relationship nor any plans for future projects related to this artist,” Balenciaga’s parent company Kering told WWD. The company did not elaborate further. Kanye has collaborated with Balenciaga in the past through his now-defunct Gap partnership.

Vogue

Fashion bible Vogue reportedly severed their long and close relationship with Kanye on Oct. 21, 2022. An insider purportedly told Page Six that the publication and its Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour, have no intentions of working with Kanye again due to his anti-Semitic remarks and White Lives Matter agenda. Their announcement also comes after Kanye attacked one of their editors, Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, who criticized him for wearing a White Lives Matter t-shirt at his Paris fashion show. But Kanye and Johnson did have a face-to-face meeting and were able to settled their differences.

Creative Artists Agency (CAA), one of Hollywood’s biggest talent agencies, reportedly terminated its relationship with Kanye. on Oct. 24, 2022, a source close to the situation purportedly told the Los Angeles Times that CAA terminated their partnership with Ye following his anti-Semitic rants in various interviews. Another entertainment powerhouse, Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, urged all companies that do business with the Chicago rapper-producer to sever their ties with him after he tweeted he wanted to go “death con 3″ on Jewish people.

MRC

Film and television studio MRC has reportedly nixed a Ye documentary that was already completed in response the rapper’s anti-Semitic comments.
“This morning, after discussion with our filmmakers and distribution partners, we made the decision not to proceed with any distribution for our recently completed documentary about Kanye West,” CEOs Modi Wiczyk and Asif Satchu, as well as COO Scott Tenley, wrote in an open letter on Oct. 24, 2022. “We cannot support any content that amplifies his platform.”
They added, “All activities [surrounding the film] are being pulled.”

Adidas

On Oct. 25, 2022, Adidas announced it was terminating its partnership with Ye, citing his continual anti-Semitic comments.
“Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech. Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness,” the statement read. “After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy branded products and stop all payments to Ye and his companies. Adidas will stop the Adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect.”
The statement continued: “This is expected to have a short-term negative impact of up to €250 million on the company’s net income in 2022 given the high seasonality of the fourth quarter. Adidas is the sole owner of all design rights to existing products as well as previous and new colorways under the partnership. More information will be given as part of the company’s upcoming Q3 earnings announcement on November 9, 2022.”
Kanye West and Adidas’ relationship began in 2013 and has been wildly profitable for both parties. In 2022, however, Ye called the shoe giant out on multiple occasion and accused them of stealing his designs. Weeks prior to announcing the split, Adidas revealed it was reviewing its partnership with the controversial rap star.

GAP

On Oct. 25, 2022, just about one month after Kanye West and Gap mutually terminated their business relationship, the global retail brand announced that they were expediting the process by immediately pulling the Yeezy Gap clothing line from all of their stores and removing the branded partnership’s website.
“Our former partner’s recent remarks and behavior further underscore why,” Gap said in a statement on Oct. 25, 2022. “We are taking immediate steps to remove Yeezy Gap products from our stores and we have shut down Yeezygap.com.”
The statement continues: “Antisemitism, racism and hate in any form are inexcusable and not tolerated in accordance with our values. On behalf of our customers, employees and shareholders, we are partnering with organizations that combat hate and discrimination.”
Ye’s former deal with Gap was inked in 2020 and at the time, the then-10-year contract was reportedly worth close to $1 billion with the first piece of clothing in the Yeezy Gap collection having been launched in June of 2021. The most recent batch of Yeezy Gap clothes was met with a bit of controversy in August of 2022 when Kanye West demanded that the entire line only be displayed in large bags on the floor of Gap stores.

Department store T.J. Maxx closed its doors to doing business with Kanye West. TJX, the parent company of the popular retail chain, announced the won’t be buying any of Ye’s apparel for sale at their stores because of his recent antisemitic comments. A spokesperson for TJX told XXL in a statement. “At TJX we do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or hate of any kind. We have instructed our buying teams not to purchase this merchandise for sale in any of our stores globally.”

Foot Locker

Following in the footsteps (no pun intended) of Gap and T.J. Maxx, Foot Locker Inc. reportedly has instructed all of its stores to remove all pairs of Kanye’s Yeezy sneakers from their shelves. In a statement to CNN, the footwear and clothing retailer will continue its partnership with Adidas but will no longer sell Yeezy-branded products. “We will not be supporting any future Yeezy product drops, and we have instructed our retail operators to pull any existing product from our shelves and digital sites,” reads the statement.

Skechers

Kanye reportedly attempted to go inside the Skecher’s main office in Manhattan Beach, Calif., unannounced in hopes of possibly partnering his Yeezy brand with the footwear company. According to reports, the honchos at Skechers weren’t interested in having a convo with Ye and escorted him and his entourage, who were filming the incident, out of the building. Skechers founder Robert Greenberg is Jewish, so it wouldn’t be far-fetched to believe that his rejection of Kanye had something to do with the rapper-producer’s recent antisemitic rhetoric.

Madame Tussauds

Not only is Kanye West getting canceled by various companies, but his wax statue was reportedly evicted as well. The London branch of Madame Tussauds has removed the life-size wax figurine of the Grammy Award-winning artist although they didn’t specifically reference the backlash of Kanye’s anti-Semitic comments as the reason for the removal. “Ye’s figure has been retired from the attraction floor to our archive,” a rep for the museum told The Guardian. “Each profile earns their place at Madame Tussauds London and we listen to our guests and the public on who they expect to see at the attraction.” Kanye’s wax statue premiered in 2015 alongside a wax figurine of his now ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

Donda Sports: Jaylen Brown and Aaron Donald

Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown and Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald have announced they are no longer involved with Donda Sports. In a statement, Brown expressed that he will “always continue to stand strongly against any antisemitism, hate speech, misrepresentation, and oppressive rhetoric of any kind.” Meanwhile, Donald announced his departure from Donda Sports in a statement via his Twitter account. He wrote, in part, “The recent comments and displays of hate and antisemitism are the exact opposite of how we choose to live our lives and raise our children. We find them to be irresponsible and go against everything we believe in as a family.” Both Brown and Donald signed with Donda Sports back in May.

Peloton

Peloton is another company that has distanced itself from Kanye—musically—due to his antisemitic comments. In a statement to Pelobuddy, an exercise website, a rep confirmed that their instructors no longer play Ye’s music in their classes. “We take this issue very seriously and can confirm Peloton indefinitely paused the use of Kanye West’s music on our platform,” it reads. “You should know this was a decision we made immediately following his remarks.” So no “New Workout Plan” for the exercising brand.

Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan Law Firm

Law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan is among several legal agents who have dropped Kanye West following his anti-Semitic tirades. In a statement to Reuters, William Burck, the co-managing partner of the U.S. trial law firm, confirmed they are no longer representing the embattled rapper-producer. “QE has withdrawn from representing Mr. West and will not represent him in the future,” he said.
Another law firm, Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, who represented Ye when he was terminating his partnership with the Gap, also dropped him as a client due to his bigoted comments and added it condemns “bigotry and hate speech of any kind.” A rep for Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young, another law firm working with Ye in the Gap deal, also cut ties with Kanye and “does not represent Yeezy, Ye, or any of their affiliates.
Additionally, Kanye’s most recent divorce lawyer, Robert Cohen of Cohen Clair Lans Greifer Thorpe & Rottenstreich, also told Reuters by email that “We are no longer representing Ye.”

Kano Computing

Kano Computing, the company that created the Stem Player that allows users to manipulate songs, terminated their partnership with Kanye West’s Yeezy Tech imprint following his anti-Semitic remarks and egregious behavior. In November 2021, Kano teamed up with Ye to have the Donda album loaded up on their Stem Players followed by his Donda 2 project in February 2022. The Chicago rapper-producer claimed he sold over $2 million worth of the players during its February release.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Alex Klein, CEO and co-founder of Kano, said his company had to distance itself from the rapper-turned-entrepreneur and is in the process of making a Ye-free device that allows artists and amateurs to upload their music and make their own mixes.
