Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski’s future isn’t totally clear ahead of Sunday’s duel against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Browns beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17 to force a winner-takes-all game between Pittsburgh and the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, they will visit Joe Burrow and Co. to close out the regular season. Stefanski has made it clear he is focused on getting the win this weekend. On Wednesday, he declined to answer questions about his job security.

“No. The most important thing is what’s in front of us,” Stefanski said. “Sunday down in Cincinnati, that’s all we care about.”

Stefanski has been with the Browns since 2020. He has posted a 44-56 record and two playoff appearances during his six-year tenure in Cleveland. After a 3-14 2024 season, the Browns could finish 2025 with two more wins. They had a plethora of picks in the 2025 NFL draft, but the jury is still out on their quarterback selection.

Shedeur Sanders will start against the Bengals after replacing Dillon Gabriel as the starter in Week 12. Once the game is over, the Browns will have a lot of questions to answer to bounce back in 2026.

Kevin Stefanski raves about one Shedeur Sanders’ trait

Amid multiple rumors suggesting that Kevin Stefanski had a hidden agenda against Shedeur Sanders, the coach has heaped praise on the rookie quarterback. Ahead of Sunday’s game, Stefanski noted one thing that has impressed him about Sanders: his desire to get better.

“The exciting part with Shedeur and a lot of the young players is improvement,” Stefanski said. “Asking them to improve on this technique or this thing that has to do with the game, and these guys being conscientious enough to put the work in. That’s the exciting part with young players — seeing constant improvement.”

In seven games, Sanders has gone 109 of 190 for 1,289 yards and seven touchdowns with 10 interceptions. Sanders has rushed the ball 18 times for 143 yards and one touchdown. It is unclear if the Browns will run it back with him in 2026, but he has shown promise in his first season.
