WWE Predictions 2026: Roman Wins Again, Gunther RETIRES Lesnar, & more
Veteran Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford won his first MVP award last season. Following his accolade, the 38-year-old quarterback announced he is returning for the 2026 season.
Although Stafford is returning for another year, the Rams are reportedly looking to select a quarterback in the 2026 NFL draft. NFL insider Louis Riddick said last week that the Rams are interested in Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson.
“I know personally, I know they [the Rams] like Ty Simpson out of Alabama,” Riddick said. “When you look at Ty’s skillset, and you think about Ty’s makeup, that’s exactly what they’re looking for.”

Simpson finished the 2025 season with 3,567 passing yards, 28 touchdowns and five interceptions for Alabama. The Rams could select him to be a strong understudy for Stafford next season.
However, it will be interesting to see if the Rams go for him with either of their two first-round picks or wait to select him in the second round with the No. 61 pick.

Matthew Stafford’s return expected to boost Rams’ Super Bowl push
The Rams’ 2025 season ended after losing the NFC championship game against the Seattle Seahawks, who went on to defeat the New England Patriots to win the Super Bowl.
However, with Matthew Stafford returning for the 2026 season, the Rams are predicted to make another strong postseason run by NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks.
“Sean McVay’s brilliance as a leader and play-caller will keep the Rams in the hunt for as long as he roams the sidelines,” Brooks wrote. “Of course, the decision by 2025 MVP Matthew Stafford to return certainly cements McVay’s immediate chances of making another title run.
“Given the Rams’ returning lineup and their coaching prowess, Super Bowl LXI could be a home game for the NFC heavyweights.”
