There is no question at all that Scottie Scheffler is the most dominant golfer in the men’s game since Tiger Woods was at the peak of his powers.
Scotie Scheffler went into the WM Phoenix Open four years ago having never won on the PGA Tour. Since then, he has been relentless in his pursuit of perfection.

The 29-year-old has won 20 times on the PGA Tour, lifted four major titles and won an Olympic gold medal.
And if there were any concerns at all about an imminent drop-off, Scheffler put those fears to bed by winning The American Express in his first start of 2026.

There have been plenty of players who have threatened to add their name to the pantheon of the greatest of all time since Tiger Woods.
But there is something different about Scheffler. His consistency must be disheartening for his peers, with his most recent missed cut coming in 2022.
And it seems that many PGA Tour players could not be happier for the 29-year-old. Speaking on 5 Clubs, Lucas Glover outlined how Scheffler has behaved ever since becoming the best player on the planet.
“The way he goes about it [impresses me most]. He hasn’t changed, he hasn’t changed a bit. He goes out there every week, every day, and goes about his business with humility and a mindset that ‘I’m here to get better and I’m here to compete’, and he does it. I’ve said it numerous times out in the open and behind closed doors, I am so impressed with his humility as a person, as a golfer,” he said.
“He’s dominating the sport in a way we haven’t seen since Tiger, and he’s doing it with such grace. He just slices you to death with paper cuts. Tiger seemed to have those one or two shots that just defined the whole tournament and propelled him to a win, a great par save or a long putt. And Scottie seems more of a Hogan-esque approach, where it’s just a lot of good shots and then a great shot if he has to have it. But he doesn’t really get out of position where he needs to have a great shot. It’s a lot of really, really good golf.
“When he holes putts he shoots 65, and when he doesn’t, he shoots 68. It’s just awesome to watch. The way he’s doing it, and you’re seeing it from the inside is even more refreshing, because he has every right to walk around with his chest poked out, but he doesn’t. He walks around with his eyes focused on the next goal, and whether that’s walking in the gym and doing his next workout or walking into the media room to do his post-round stuff, there’s no change. He’s just Scottie, and it’s awesome. And I’m such a fan of his because of that.”
The only question mark left when it comes to Scottie Scheffler
Glover’s comments about Scheffler perhaps explain why he is better-equipped than anyone else to go on and threaten to rival the numbers of Woods and Jack Nicklaus.
His reaction to winning The CJ CUP Byron Nelson and lifting the Claret Jug after The Open Championship would not have been too dissimilar.

He is not chasing 19 majors or 83 PGA Tour wins. Scheffler is simply determined to be better at golf than he was the previous day. And that is an incredible thought when you consider the gap between himself and the rest on the PGA Tour.
Motivation is perhaps the only issue Scheffler may have. Practicing for the same tournaments he has won several times before may get harder and harder as the years go by.
But if he is still playing on the PGA Tour in 10 years and has managed to avoid any serious injuries in that time, then there is reason to think that he will become only the fourth male golfer to reach double figures for major wins.
