Green Bay Packers quarterback Malik Willis is in the news as the backup quarterback is set to decide his NFL future with free agency looming in the coming weeks.
While Willis has been a backup to Jordan Love for the last two years, the 26-year-old signal caller is attracting interest from teams across the league. The Miami Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers are the teams linked with Willis, according to NFL insider Mina Kimes.
Kimes feels that the Steelers, worth $6.5 billion according to Forbes, could be the best suited for the Packers quarterback’s style.
“I think the Steelers’ run game was actually decent last year,” Kimes said. “It would be even better with Willis. And he throws a gorgeous deep ball and [DK] Metcalf is right there. You have an ascending, a lot of good players on the offensive line, they obviously need another receiver and whatnot, but Metcalf to me is such a good fit with his style.

“I think a Pittsburgh team with Malik Willis is intriguing. I get why other teams would be interested, but if I’m Willis, the Steelers to me make more sense than those other teams if you want to go have a chance to win.”

Willis has made 11 appearances with four starts for the Packers. He completed 70 of 89 passes (78.6 percent) for 972 yards (10.92 yards per attempt), six touchdowns and no interceptions. He also rushed for 261 yards for three touchdowns.
